Hi COBirders,

We finally have some clear sky to go with the full moon before it gets too high 
in the sky tonight, and there are currently birds crossing the moon, at least 
from where I am sitting.

If you haven’t tried it, watching the lunar disk with a tripod and spotting 
scope gives you a motionless platform for counting moon-crossing birds. This is 
about the prime time, at the end of August, and I’m not sure if it will be 
clear enough the next couple of nights.  I’ve been waiting all month for this 
chance!
