Birds were out and about on this cool, almost rainy morning. Still running
with only about 1/3 of our nets up, we caught 42 new birds, with 6 new
species for the season:

Willow Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Least Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Western Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Cassin's Vireo 1 (FOS)
Warbling Vireo 1
Black-capped Chickadee 1 new, 1 banded 2014
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 (FOS)
House Wren 5
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 3
Townsend's Warbler 1 (FOS)
MacGillivray's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 20
House Sparrow 2

This fall, we will be open 6 days a week, weather permitting, through at
least October 11. The closed day will be a weekday and will vary depending
on when we do not have a school group - the next 2 weeks we are closed on
Mondays (9/7 and 9/14). We are opening nets at
6:30, and will run until noon or when it gets too hot. (Given the weather
report, it is unlikely we will make it to noon any day this week!) School
groups arrive about 9:30 a.m. most weekdays.
