ADAMS COUNTY:
--18 Greater White-fronted Geese were reported by Scott Someshoe at Barr
Lake SP on October 15.
--A Thayer's Gull was reported by David Dowell at Barr Lake SP on October
18.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--On October 9, Van Remsen reported 7 Chestnut-collared Longspurs at a
field on RD 185 about .5 mile S of Hwy 36.
--A White-winged Scoter was reported by Gene Rutherford at Cherry Creek SP
at the Smoky Hill Picnic Area on October 18.

BENT COUNTY:
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Dave Leather at Tempel Grove on October
10.
--On October 18, Duane Nelson reports that he has visiting Red-bellied
Woodpecker, Canyon Towhee, Harris's Sparrow, and Curve-billed Thrasher at
his yard in Las Animas.  Birders are welcome if you notify Duane first.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--A TRICOLORED HERON was found by Peter Gent at Cottonwood Marsh on October
11.  It has been seen by many birders.
It has been moving around the marsh.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by John Rutenbeck near Lagerman Reservoir
on October 19.

DENVER COUNTY:
--A Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Jeff Dawson at Washington Park
on October 15.
--A McCown's Longspur was reported by Jeff Dawson near DIA on W Cargo Road
on October 18.

DOUGLAS COUNTY:
--A juv ARCTIC TERN was reported by Glenn Walbek at the Chatfield sandspit
on October 2.  The ARCTIC TERN was seen by several other birders on October
2.  On October 3, Bryan and Kristin Arnold reported ARCTIC TERN and
Sabine's Gull east of the sandspit at Chatfield.  The ARCTIC TERN was seen
by many birder on October 3.  On October 4, Van Remsen reported Red-necked
Grebe and ARCTIC TERN at Chatfield.  On October 5, Mark Chavez reported
ARCTIC TERN and imm Sabine's Gull at Chatfield SP, and Sue Riffe and many
others reported Red-necked Grebe at Chatfield.   On October 6, Michael
Kiessig found a Ruddy Turnstone on the Sandspit along with ARCTIC TERN and
Sabine's Gull at Chatfield.  On October 7, Tom Behnfiled reported Ruddy
Turnstone, ARCTIC TERN, and Sabine's Gull at Sandpit and Doug Kibbe
reported Red-necked Grebe at Chatfield.  On October 8 Scott Manwaring
reported Ruddy Turnstone, Red-necked Grebe and 2 Sabine's Gulls at
Chatfield.  Others missed the Ruddy Turnstone later in the day.    On
October 9, Matt Crooks reported Ruddy Turnstone and Bob Shade reported
Red-necked Grebe at Chatfield SP.   On October 10, Steve Stachowiak
reported Ruddy Turnstone and Tom Behnfield reported Red-necked Grebe at
Chatfield SP.  On October 11, Joey Kellner reported that the Red-necked
Grebe was seen on the Chatfield Big Sit.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Joey Kellner at the original Heron
Overlook at Chatfield SP on October 18.

EAGLE COUNTY:
--A Williamson's Sapsucker was reported by JoAnn Riggle at Eby Creek Mesa
on October 13.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--On October 7, Steve Brown reported Eastern Phoebe at Clear Spring Ranch.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Mark Peterson at Big Johnson in the
Northeast corner on October 17.  On October 19, Mark Peterson refound
Red-necked Grebe at Big Johnson.

--EL PASO/PUEBLO COUNTIES:  Chico Basin Ranch
--On October 15, 5 Sprague's Pipits were reported by Jeannie Mitchell and
several other birders at Chico Basin Ranch Sandhills (El Paso) on October
15.
--On October 16, Dan Stringer reported McCown's Longspurs at the lake S of
headquarters (Pueblo) at Chico Basin.
--On October 17, 5 Sprague's Pipits were reported by John Drummond, Tom
Bunker, Leonard Lake, David Tonnessen, and Joy Lake at Chico Basin Ranch on
the El Paso side.
--A Field Sparrow was reported by Chris Goulart at Chico Basin Ranch (El
Paso) on October 17.
--A Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was reported by John Drummon at Chico Basin
Ranch (El Paso) on October 17.

KIOWA COUNTY:
--5 Greater White-fronted Geese and 30 Chestnut-collared Longspurs were
reported by Dave Leatherman at Upper Queens Reservoir on October 14.

KIT CARSON COUNTY:
--A Blue-headed Vireo was reported by Joey Kellner and Kathy Mihm Dunning
at Flagler Reservoir SWA on October 17.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--3 Green Heron were reported by David Wade at Magpie Meander Natural Area
in Fort Collins on October 7.
--An imm Red-necked Grebe was reported by Irene Fortune by the sim beach
and a Lesser Black-backed Gull at Lake Loveland on October 15.
--A Chestnut-collared Longspur was reported by Steve Mlodinow at Timnath
Reservoir on October 19.

LINCOLN COUNTY:
--A Blue-headed Vireo was reported by Joey Kellner and Kathy Mihm Dunning
at Arriba City Park on October 17.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Coen Dexter west of Nucla Airport on
October 13.
--On October 16, Coen Dexter reported 1 Surf Scoters on a pond 1/2 mile W
of Nucla on W 5th Ave.

MORGAN COUNTY:
--A Parasitic Jaeger was reported by Jessie Barry at Jackson Reservoir on
the N side on October 3.  On October 4, Norm Erthal reported ad Parasitic
Jaeger at Jackson Reservoir.  On October 5,Todd Deininger reported
Parasitic Jaeger at Jackson Reservoir seen from the North Side.  On October
6, Ira Sanders reported that the Parasitic Jaeger continues at Jackson
Reservoir.  On October 7, Glenn Walbek reported ad Parasitic Jaeger and
sub-ad Lesser Black-backed Gull at Jackson Reservoir.  On October 8, John
Vanderpoel repored Parasitic Jaeger at Jackson Reservoir.  On October 11,
Dough Faulkner reported Parasitic Jaeger at Jackson Reservoir.
--On October 12, David Dowell reported Red-necked Grebe and Lesser
Black-backed Gull at Jackson Reservoir.
--A Sprague's Pipit was repoerted by Scott Manwaring at Hwy 71 and CR JJ on
October 13.
--On October 14 on CR 4 N of Jackson Reservoir, Ken Rosenburg reported 200
Chestnut-collared Longspurs and 20 McCown's Longspurs.

PROWERS COUNTY:
--A Nashville Warbler was reported by Chris Rurik at Lamar Community
College Woods on October 9.
--At Riverside Cemetery in Lamar on October 9, Dave Leatherman reported
Swamp Sparrow, 2 Nashville Warblers, and 3+Field Sparrows.  On October 10
at Riverside Cemetery, Dave Leatherman reported 2 Field Sparrows and 1
Nashville Warbler.  On October 14 at Riverside Cemetery, Dave Leatherman
reported 5 Field Sparrows.
--At Thurston Reservoir on October 10, Dave Leatherman reported 1 Field
Sparrow.
--On October 18, Dave Leatherman reported 2 Nashville Warbler at Lamar
Community College Woods (LCCW)at the north end.
--On October 19 at Riverside Cemetery on Maple Ave in Lamar, Dave
Leatherman reported Field Sparrow.
--A Blue-headed Vireo was reported by Dave Leatherman at Fairmount Cemetery
in Lamar on October 19.
--On October 19 at LCCW, Dave Leatherman reported 1+ Nashville Warblers in
the north end in Hackberries and Elms and a Red-bellied Woodpecker east of
the library.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--On October 7, Brandon Percival reported 3 Caspian Terns at Pueblo
Reservoir and Margie Joy found a Greater Roadrunner at the Turkey Creek
area of the reservoir.   On October 7, Daniel Fleming reported a Green
Heron at Pueblo Reservoir.

WASHINGTON COUNTY:
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by David Dowell at Prewitt
Reservoir on October 12.

WELD COUNTY:
--On October 7, Steve Mlodinow reported Red-bellied Woodpecker at Crow
Valley CG.
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by John Vanderpoel at Loloff on October
8.
--On October 12, David Dowell reported Broad-winged Hawk and Red-bellied
Woodpecker at Crow Valley CG.
--On October 14, Steve Mlodinow reported Red-bellied Woodpecker at Crow
Valley CG.
--On October 214, Steve Mlodinow reported Red-necked Grebe at Union
Reservoir.
--A Thayer's Gull was reported by Steve Mlodinow at Windsor Reservoir on
October 14.
--A Sprague's Pipit was reported by Rachel Hopper at the intersection of
Hwy 114 and CR 37 on Central Plains Experimental Range on October 14.
--2 Sharp-tailed Grouse were reported by Andy Bankert at Pawnee Buttes on
October 17.
--A Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Ron Bolton at Crow Valley CG on
October 19.

YUMA COUNTY:
--On October 10, Bill Kaempfer reported 6 Sprague's Pipit in the Hale Area
at Pipit Hill on the CFO Field Trip.
--On October 12, Nic Korte reported 6 Sprague's Pipits in the Hale Area at
Pipit Hill.
--On October 17, Adam Vesely and Jesse Casias reported Sprague's Pipit at
Pipit Hill in the Hale Area.

DFO Field Trips:

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 24 will be to Cherry Creek SP led
by Mary Cay Burger (mcburger3 at JUNO.COM <http://juno.com/>; 303-771-3431)
 Meet the leader at the park at Pelican Point at 0730.  Directions:  Enter
the east side of Cherry Creek Sp via leighih off of Parker Road.  Go just
past the entrance station and turn left (south) at the first intersection.
The road bends and heads west with the reservoir ahead of you.  Go about
1/4 mile, just past the next intersection.  The parking for Pelican Point
will be on your left.  State Parks pass or day pass required.  Look for
gulls, waterfowl and a variety of birds.  Will carpool to the various stops
and walk 1 - 2 miles.  Bring binoculars, water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug
repellent.  Scopes are useful.  Register online or contact the leader.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 25 will be to South Platte River
Trail at E 88th Ave and I-76 led by Paul Slignsby (paslingby AT comcast.com
303-442-3728.   This trip is full.
