The highlight at Chatfield Reservoir was 6 *Tundra Swans* initially on the
water near the Original Heronry Overlook (Jefferson/Douglas), but nearly as
soon as I got the scope on them they took flight and went off to the north.
They were wonderfully large. A juv. *Greater White-fronted Goose* was also
seen from there, and 21 *Am. White Pelicans* were lingering near the Platte
inlet. A HY *Northern Shrike* perched near the Original Heronry parking
lot. From the Handicapped Fisherman's Platform I saw 1 *Red-necked Grebe*
amid Westerns, and an *American Pipit* flew over. A *Wilson's Snipe* was at
the Platte delta area. Chatfield had lower waterfowl numbers (except for
white cheeked geese) and less variety than my visit a week ago.

South Platte Reservoir still had two female *Surf Scoters*, feeding in the
Jefferson County portion.

There were lots of geese in the fields southeast of the Mineral Ave x Santa
Fe intersection (Arapahoe), and I went out of my way to view them. Amid
about 800 Canada and Cackling there were 2 *Snow Geese* (1 adult and 1 juv)
and 1 adult *Ross's Goose*. A *Rough-legged Hawk* was perched on a
cottonwood, and a *Bald Eagle *passed over flushing all the geese. The
white geese flew off toward McLellen Reservoir, but I'm not sure where they
ended up.

Hine Lake at Robert A. Easton Regional Park near Bowles x Coal Mine
(Jefferson) had a *Common Loon*, and a female *Greater Scaup* was with some
Lessers.

A *Ferruginous Hawk* and a *Golden Eagle* were over Ken Caryl Valley,
Jefferson.
