Sharon & Mike, One of my favorite spots for ducks is the Platte River, which flows from South to North through Denver. There are numerous spots along it with lots of ducks. We especially like 88th & Colorado Blvd, which is NE of Denver proper.
Rosy Finches are hit & miss, and not common in the lowlands. You may need to go to the mountains to see them. They have been spotted at a private residence not far from Denver, and if you follow this blog, you may get a chance to see them. The other place is the Fawnbrook Inn in Allenspark, CO.
