I found a cooperative *Winter Wren* this morning at Massey Draw near my
home in Ken Caryl Valley, Jefferson Co. It was calling often and well seen
along the drainage amid some large willows. I managed recordings and iPhone
photos that are decent and in this checklist (but turn the volume way up to
hear the calls):

I made a coupel stops at Chatfield to view the lake near the campground,
but did not see any unusual species. Of interest was an apparent
leucistic *Aechmophorus
Grebe *(like a Western) that was very pale gray where it should have been
black or dark. It was too far to study in detail, but a neat oddity.A stop
at South Platte Reservoir had nothing of note.
