Hello, Birders. A couple dozen of us had a wonderful time earlier today, 
Sat., Dec. 12, in the winter wonderland of Greenlee Preserve and Waneka 
Lake, eastern Boulder County.

Highlights were a beautiful *white-throated sparrow;* three *killdeer* 
still hanging on; a flyover *bald eagle;* an ominous *California gull* 
mixed in with the *ring-billed gulls;* a couple of *Nelson white-breasted 
nuthatches;* problematic geese, and many *dark-eyed juncos,* every one of 
them seemingly different from every other one.

In theory, we were practicing for the the imminent Christmas Bird Count 
season, but, mainly, we just had a good time. Here are photos and memories:
