Hello, Birders. A couple dozen of us had a wonderful time earlier today, Sat., Dec. 12, in the winter wonderland of Greenlee Preserve and Waneka Lake, eastern Boulder County.
Highlights were a beautiful *white-throated sparrow;* three *killdeer* still hanging on; a flyover *bald eagle;* an ominous *California gull* mixed in with the *ring-billed gulls;* a couple of *Nelson white-breasted nuthatches;* problematic geese, and many *dark-eyed juncos,* every one of them seemingly different from every other one. In theory, we were practicing for the the imminent Christmas Bird Count season, but, mainly, we just had a good time.
