After striking out at the Yellow-throated Warbler stakeout in Fort Collins, I
joined forces with Andy Bankert and Dave Wade, in spite of the snow, which
persisted all afternoon.

Douglas Reservoir was less birdy than last week. Highlights were Northern
Shrike at south end, and 2 lingering Bonaparte's Gulls. No sign of the adult
Mew Gull from last week.

The Larimer Landfill was crawling with hungry gulls, including a second-cycle
Glaucous Gull, a second-cycle Mew Gull, 3 Thayer's Gull, 6 Lesser Black-backed
Gull. Seems like an especially good year for Mew Gull in Colorado. Lately,
permission has not been an issue at the landfill. Checking in with one of the
attendants has been adequate for access.

Lake Loveland was very birds, with more than 500 birds present. We missed
Dunlin, but we did find 6 lingering Bonaparte's Gulls, 3 Thayer's Gulls, 1
Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers.

Photo of the Mew Gull can be found on eBird and will be posted shorting to the
CFO Facebook Group.
