My vote goes to the American Woodcock found at the Bobcat Ridge Natural
Area in
Larimer County last January. Thanks to the Ranger Karl Manderbach, working
even on his days off,
many, many eager birders were able to view this "Meatloaf on a Stick" with
minimal disturbance to the habitat or the bird.
For scores of birders, it was a "Lifer."
Karl received a CFO Appreciation Award for his efforts.

Rarer birds have been seen in CO this year, (e.g., Brown-crested
Flycatcher), but I give extra credit to a bird that delighted
so many birders.
