Late this afternoon there was a non-breeding Long-tailed Duck swimming on the open water at the east Valco Pond in Canon City. Standing on the ice were twenty-one Gr. White-fronted Geese. Dozens of Common Goldeneyes were on the water and hundreds of geese were standing on the ice. Earlier this afternoon at Rouse park I found a Hermit Thrush and a White-winged Dove in the pines around the east parking lot. A few Yellow-rumps were in the pine trees. Rich Miller Canon City
