One male Red-breasted Merganser swimming with 12 Common Mergansers in the fog at Stearns Lake was spotted by Ruth Carol Cushman and myself between 9:30 and 11:00 this morning.
Mallards, No. Shovelers, one Bufflehead, and one Common Goldeneye rounded out the rest of the ducks amidst many White-cheeked Geese. Both Bald Eagles were sitting by their nest.
