Karen Drozda and I stumbled upon the missing Brown Pelican (adult, breeding plumage) at Ireland Reservoir #5 around noon today. The pelican was seen across the lake from the spot where County Rd. 49 heads due north away from the reservoir. It was standing on some stumps and logs surrounded by flooded willows against the SE shore. The bird flew off while we were watching to points unknown.
