Never been attacked by a grouse, but I have been kicked in the hip by a well
known aggressive turkey in a Sacramento park. "Fearless Fred" was eventually
relocated.
Also was chased by a turkey in Arizona and forced to jump a stream to get away.
Both incidences were right around Easter.

I seem to remember that the Lookout Mountain attack grouse ended up being run
over and killed by a car.

The Dusky Grouse at Lookout Mountain (RIP) Jefferson County last year did the
same thing. It was kind of fun!
