Hi Everyone,

My name is Tommy and I'm from the Phoenix area. Two of my friends and I are
planning a trip to Telluride over Memorial Day weekend and we are going to be
searching for Boreal Owls for two nights in the San Juans. It is a bird I am
dying to see, so any information or suggestions on finding them in this
mountain range or tips on finding them during this time frame would be highly
appreciated. I do understand that it may come with a bit of a challenge, as
the end of May is when the time frame that they are more likely to be calling
is closing.

For something fun for my birding this year, I've been working on a North
American Owl Big Year and I have a goal of seeing all of North America's 19 owl
species. So far I have 17 of them, and Boreal is the only one I haven't seen
overall. The year has been very fun so far, and any help would be highly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good Birding,

Tommy DeBardeleben (Glendale, Arizona)
