Jon Dunn, the keynote speaker of our 2014 CFO convention and one of the most esteemed field guide leaders in the world, is leading a special CFO trip. He will be picking up participants at the Sacramento, California airport, and leading them to hotspots on the way to the Western Field Ornithologists convention in Fortuna, California. He is donating his time in order to further the partnership between CFO and WFO. The trip starts from the Sacramento airport on September 21 and arrives at the convention site on the eve of September 28. The convention ends on October 2, so transportation back to Sacramento is the morning of October 3. Information about the WFO convention will be online shortly at westernfieldornithologists.org. For birders looking to fatten their life lists on birds seen only on the west coast, with perhaps an Asian rarity or two thrown in, this could be a lifer bonanza.
