Had a successful owling excursion last night with Gary and Greg Witt at Van Bibber Open Space in Arvada. We went in the hopes of finding the Eastern Screech Owl that's been seen there recently. Found a Great Horned Owl at the western end, but the highlight was TWO Eastern Screeches about a quarter of a mile from the parking lot where the main path crosses the creek. Not a rarity, but we thought others might like to know exactly where it was seen if they go looking.
