This morning I saw 4 Gunnison Sage-Grouse at the edge of a patch of Ponderosa,
Spruce and Douglas Fir in an otherwise wide expanse of sage brush habitat on CR
26 about at the mile 5 marker. The birds flushed as I was exiting the woods.
These were the only Sage-grouse I found after searching this area for the past
4-5 days. Lots of Brewers Sparrows but, alas, no Sage Sparrows as yet.
