Well, it's not exactly like being the first to document breeding by BAIS in 
Colorado, but here is a challenge for you in you are in the Boulder area, 
especially in the evenings, over the next few weeks.  The Meadows Branch of the 
Boulder Public Library is nestled on the back side of the Meadows Shopping 
Center at Baseline and Foothill.  Just west of the Library is the loading dock 
for the Safeway store that anchors the shopping center.  That loading dock is 
the apparent nesting site of a pair of large black corvids.  In the hot of the 
evening they perch in the shade of the rear-most light fixture while there is 
an obvious nest on the outer most fixture.  The nest has  been there for at 
least 3 years now, but the birds-are they Common Ravens or Chihuahuan Ravens?  
Too big to be crows in my limited vision, but which raven would nest in an 
industrial site in a city?
