Hi All,
Since 2014, we have been building and a placing nest boxes for Barn Owls
in Boulder and Larimer counties. The owls began arriving in to at least
one of our boxes in March.
As the summer progressed we had Barn Owls nesting in our boxes in
Lafayette, Berthoud, and Loveland.
Two of our boxes have live cameras in them. The two boxes with cameras
have enabled the entire world to watch the activity of the owls in real
time.
The owls in one box in Loveland and another box in Lafayette have double
clutched! In other words, they have nested twice this season. The box in
Lafayette has had some of her eggs already hatch and the pair in
Loveland may not be finished laying her full clutch yet. As of yesterday
she had 5 eggs.
