I started out the day in Phillips County where I was joined in Holyoke by David Dowell. The weather was overcast with strong winds out of the south, but there wasn't much migrant action. I continued on my way home in hopes of picking up Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Little Gull (check and check), but did stop to bird the portion of Prewitt Reservoir below the dam on the northeast-the bit that is in Logan County. The weather was overcast, cool and not windy which made the birding much more active. The olive thickets, in particular, were full of Wilson's Warblers and House Wrens and scattered other stuff. Best, however, was a bright Philadelphia Vireo. If interested, see my eBird write up for plumage details. As I was leaving the area, the cloud cover broke and the temperature started to climb.
