Hiya! We caught and banded our second *Northern Saw-whet Owl* this morning here at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area). This time it was a young male. The *White-eyed Vireo* that was banded over a week ago was recaptured again today and this time, it had gained significant fat/weight. In fact, it gained over half the entire weight of a kinglet (3 grams)!
There was a large flock of adult *White-crowned Sparrow*s, both *Gambel's* and *Mountain*, flying around today and we managed to net and band several of them. Highest numbers still went to *Hermit Thrush*, which are once again in abundance this season. Remember, last day for fall banding here at Chico Basin Ranch is this Saturday, October 1st.
