This morning a tardy female *American Redstart *was along Massey Draw in the area below my home in Ken Caryl Valley, Jefferson Co. A *Northern Mockingbird *there was notable for the location; this was only my 4th observation of the species in the KC Valley in three years. This afternoon a party of 16 *Sandhill Cranes* flew over quite high up, heading southeast at the time. It has otherwise been quiet for migrants today.
At late morning the female type *Surf Scoter* continued in the Arapahoe County portion of South Platte Reservoir, steadfastly snoozing. It was the only bird on the water in the whole reservoir during my visit.
