Woodland Park Yard Area

Sadly no warbler migrants in spring and fall migration here, miss seeing
them like when I used to live on Front Range.

Blue Jay, one on 9-30, first to yard area, did not return
Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 9-1
Golden-crowned Kinglet, 9-1
Brown Creeper, 9-1
Western Meadowlark, 9-3
Rock Wren, 9-10
Clark’s Nutcrackers, around early Sept. then gone rest of month

Also:
Western Scrub-Jay, Green Mountain Falls, 9-14
Osprey, Catamount Res. near Green Mountain Falls, 9-14
Eurasian Collared-Dove, occ. seen in Woodland Park area
Bald Eagle, 1 imm. at Cheesman Res. on 9-25
Three-toed Woodpecker, Pancake Rocks Trail, S of Divide, 9-30
Brewer’s Blackbird, flocking in Woodland Park area thru month
Screech-Owl, talked to some people in Cascade area that had a Screech-Owl
in their storage shed this summer

On Sept. 11 at Cheesman Res. had a gray Tassel-eared/Abert’s Squirrel,
apparently gray phase is less common than black color. Also at my yard area
I have black squirrels with no ear tassels so I thought they were juv.
Abert’s but locals tell me the Fox and Abert’s Squirrels are breeding so
app. the black squirrels with no ear tassels are Fox/Abert’s hybrids.
