A hatch-year *Harris's Sparrow* has been visiting my yard in Ken Caryl
Valley from Nov 5-7. A *Northern Harrier* passed over my home at sunrise
this morning. I love watching the skies near home in the early morning, as
you never know what will show up. Sometimes nothing unexpected, but often
enough there is some avian treasure that makes it worth the lookout.

Harriman Lake Park had 3 *Harris's Sparrows* this morning (1 adult, 2 HY)
and some *Hooded Mergansers*. Hine Lake at Robert A. Easton Regional Park
had my first *Cackling Geese* (19) and *Greater Scaup *(2) of the season.

A *Northern Shrike* was along the entry road for Roxborough SP, overlooking
Aurora Rampart Reservoir. The reservoir had few birds, but I enjoyed
watching an energetic party of *Common Goldeneye*.
