At 8:30 this morning there was a group of a dozen sparrows along the edge
of the paved path leading to the Boulder Creek trail from the East Boulder
Rec center (across from the NE corner of the parking lot). There was a
Swamp Sparrow (and two Song Sparrows) with the rest beingTree Sparrows.

(it's cold out there--the 4 intrepid members of the Boulder Bird Club on
our Wednesday morning trip only lasted half an hour this morning before we
went for coffee, but in that short period probably saw 100 birds in the
trees at the beginning of the trail--mostly American Goldfinches, plus 20
Tree Sparrows, 5 Robins, a Red-tailed Hawk, and the Swamp Sparrow and Song
Sparrows mentioned above)
