There's good coverage in this morning's *Denver Post* of the Summit County 
Purple Sandpiper:

Duane Nelson earlier made the important point that "[w]e, as birders, are 
under the scrutiny of a much larger audience," and it's nice to see the 
positive perspective of *Denver Post* writer Jason Blevins.

I'm especially gratified to see the announcements on COBirds regarding 
ride-sharing to see the sandpiper; our day-to-day "green" decisions and 
lifestyles are ultimate the most important thing we can do for birds and 
the ecosystems they depend on.
