Hey COBirders, Nothing rare, but I managed to band the range of Dark-eyed Junco subspecies this morning in my yard: White-winged (FOS), Pink-sided, Oregon, Gray-headed, Slate-colored. Not big numbers, just more diversity than I have seen this season. Still watching for a first Cassiar/cismontanus this year.
Also banded my first yard Hairy Woodpecker. I used to see them almost daily when I taught on the USAFA by the ponderosas, but have only had 3-4 in my yard, 5 miles S of there, in the last 25 years. Good birding, Steve Brown NW COS, Mountain Shadows -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
