Hi I will be heading out with a MASS Audubon group for a week of birding, mid April. We'll begin in Denver and move onto Fort Collins, Walden, Craig, Silverthorne, Gunnison, returning to Denver. Itinerary includes viewing three leks (Greater Sage-Grouse, Sharp-tailed Grouse and Gunnison Sage-Grouse) as well as traveling through some high elevation, such as, Cameron Pass and Loveland Pass.
A few years ago, I traveled out to Oklahoma same time of year, and was a bit surprised by cold weather. I understand weather can vary but I want to be prepared as possible. So looking for information on what possible weather we might encounter - temperatures, high and lows, precipitation, icy conditions - and any other helpful advice. Looking forward to visiting Colorado. First time. Thank you for your time.
