Hi all,
I have been doing a fair amount of birding recently in the Louisville area.
Turkey Vultures have arrived as of last week, and have been steadily
increasing since. There were five today. Last Sunday there was a
Ruby-crowned Kinglet in the northwest corner of Warembourg, and I had a
flyover Double-crested Cormorant and Peregrine Falcon at Miner's Field.
Bushtits and Sharp-shinned Hawks have been quite frequent of late. Common
Grackles arrived in force - there were 163 yesterday. Today my brother and
I visited Hecla Lake, where there were Gadwalls, a Say's Phoebe, Cooper's
Hawk, Greater Yellowlegs, and two American Avocet. There is currently a
Wilson's Snipe at the fishing pond in Warembourg as well.
Good birding,
Jack Bushong,
Louisville, CO
