This morning before work there was not too much of note around my home in
the Ken Caryl Valley, although a male *Wood Duck* flying over was nice.
Then I came home early from work and spent a good deal of time watching the
yard in the rain, and at the end of the afternoon I walked down along
Massey Draw below my home. Birding was better in the afternoon and the
rain. My yard had nice visits by 2-3 *Western Tanagers*, 1 male *Rose-breasted
Grosbeak*, 3 *Black-headed Grosbeaks*, and 1 *Hermit Thrush*. With light
rain falling Massey Draw (no public access) had a neat concentration of
migrants: 1 *Least Flycatcher*, 1 *Dusky Flycatcher*, 1 *Swainson's Thrush*,
1 *Blue-gray Gnatcatcher*, 1 *Ruby-crowned Kinglet*, and 1 *Lazuli Bunting*.
