Things moved along at a moderate pace today until about 10:45, when the sun
suddenly broke through the clouds, and every Catbird in the neighborhood
decided to come out to play, joined by a Bullock's Oriole, a couple of
Yellow Warblers, and a Warbling Vireo. Finished the day with 25 new and 3
banded in prior years:

Willow Flycatcher (FOS) 1
Warbling Vireo 1
Gray Catbird 9 new, 1 banded in 2016, 1 in 2015
Yellow Warbler 7
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 2
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Spotted Towhee 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Bullock's Oriole 1
Lesser Goldfinch 1 banded in 2016

The banding station runs daily, weather permitting, through June 1 (except
Memorial Day), from 7:00 to approximately 11:30. There have been some
changes in WEEKEND visiting policies - If you are planning a weekend visit,
I strongly encourage you to go to Denveraudubon.org to get more information
and guarantee your spot by PRE-REGISTERING. Weekdays are the same as in the
past - school groups arrive between 9:30 and 10; early weekday mornings are
the best time for a peaceful visit with us and the birds!
