We are approaching (at?) the peak of our migration season. Today was the
busiest this season; we banded 36 and caught 4 new birds banded in prior
years. Also lots of species:

Willow Flycatcher 1
House Wren 2
Swainson's Thrush (FOS) 1
Gray Catbird 9
Cedar Waxwing (FOS) 1
Virginia's Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 8 new, 1 banded in 2016, 1 in 2014, 1 in 2013
MacGillivray's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 4 new, 1 banded 2016
Spotted Towhee 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 4
White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 1

The banding station runs daily, weather permitting, through June 1
(except Memorial Day), from 7:00 to approximately 11:30. There have been
some changes in WEEKEND visiting policies - If you are planning a weekend
visit, I strongly encourage you to go to Denveraudubon.org to get more
information and guarantee your spot by PRE-REGISTERING. Weekdays are the
same as in the past - school groups arrive between 9:30 and 10; early
weekday mornings are the best time for a peaceful visit with us and the
birds!
