At about 6:50 this evening me, David Wade, and Nick Komar found a SNOWY
PLOVER at Cobb Lake along County Rd. 56 in Wellington. Viewed from a bend
in the road looking Eastish along the muddy shoreline. I was able to get an
identifiable photo of the bird before it mysteriously disappeared without
any of us noticing...we stayed there for a good while afterwards hoping to
refind the but bird prevailed. There's many places it could be on the lake
that wouldn't be easy or possible to view. This is a species that has not
been found in Larimer County for a long time. Also present was a Sanderling
very close to the Plover.
