FYI, the two sides ARE connected. If you go in the east entrance, walk up
the hill to the south side and there is a gate to the canal. Walk west
along the canal to the west side of the refuge. The west side is accessible
from dawn until dusk year-round, the east side is closed for a good part of
the year and opens at 8am when open.

Hours of Operation: Tuesdays - Saturdays, 8am - 4pm, May - September; and
closed October - April.
