Hi all,
Sorry for the delayed post. This past weekend I was in the Frisco area and
was able to do a bit of birding.
Dillon Reservoir had many pipits and a few Spotted Sandpipers. A hike up to
Rainbow Lake through snow flurries yielded Swainson's Thrush, Hermit
Thrush, Rock Wren, a probable *Clay-colored Sparrow*, and others. That
night while out on the porch of our cabin we heard two *Boreal Owls* vocalizing
from the coniferous forests near Miners Creek. The next day we did a quick
hike around Officer's Gulch, where there was a Western Grebe and Clark's
Nutcracker.
Good birding,
Jack Bushong,
Louisville, CO
