Hi Folks,

For those of you not heading off to Steamboat Springs (and even those who are,
I guess), I wanted to post information on a couple of very interesting
sightings in Nebraska today.

First, for the past four or five days there has been a Brown Booby flying
around at Harlan County Lake at Alma in south central Nebraska. Harlan County
Lake is about midway between Kearney, NE and Hays, KS, and very close to the
NE/KS state line. The lake is huge, probably bigger than John Martin Reservoir
but it seems to like roosting on the dam.

Second, today eight Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were spotted in Bridgeport,
NE. . https://www.facebook.com/WildcatAudubon/ This is about 75 miles north
of Sterling on the North Platte.

Third, two weeks ago during that last big storm I observed 54 Purple Martins at
a martin house in Benkelman, NE which is in Dundy County, just east of Wray.
