A Bell's Vireo was singing to the south in the olives, at the 3rd Valco
Pond in Pueblo (Pueblo County) this morning around 7:15am. This is the
exact same location, one has been singing the last three summers. I hadn't
had a chance to visit this location for quite a while, like mid-May maybe,
so who knows how long it has been around. I don't know of other local
birders who check this area regularly, so it has likely been here for
weeks. You can park at Valco Ponds parking lot, and walk east in between
the first and second Valco Ponds, to get to the third Valco Pond, the bird
is pretty far east, probably 50 yards west of the Valco Bridge, where you
can cross the river. I walked from the Osprey Picnic Area in Rock Canyon
to this location, while might be a quicker walk (at least 15 minutes).
