A lovely day, with a great variety of birds and a nice group of visitors
with whom to share them! We caught a wider variety of birds - 15 species,
including 6 that were new for the season. Highlight was a BLACKPOLL
WARBLER. Here's the breakdown of the 46 birds banded today:

Western Wood-pewee 1
Black-capped Chickadee 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 (FOS)
White-breasted Nuthatch 1 (FOS) Two Nuthatch species on the same day!
House Wren 5
Swainson's Thrush 1 (FOS)
Yellow Warbler 9
Blackpoll Warbler 1
MacGillivray's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 21
Green-tailed Towhee 1 (FOS)
Clay-colored Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 1 (FOS)

Come visit! We are open 6 days per week (CLOSED Mondays), weather
permitting. We are opening nets at 6:30 and should have birds back at the
station before 7:30. We will close most days by about 11:30, earlier now
when it is so hot. School groups arrive most weekdays at about 9:30.
