On a visit to John Martin Reservoir yesterday I got a good look at a pair of
Willets flying along the north shore of the lake, near 19 Road. On a side
note, accessing Blue Lake is extremely difficult due to recent heavy rains and
consequent deep mud on the roads south and east of the lake. The most notable
birds near there were a group of American Avocets feeding in a stock dam pond.
Caution regarding mud is advised around John Martin as well.
