All:

Finally had decent weather this morning and the huge numbers of blackbirds did
not disappoint. I got video of 3 out 4 “departures” to share, and it still
can’t capture how many birds are there. With nice weather over the weekend,
I’d strongly encourage anyone who’s looking for high “wow” factor to come check
it out. Like last year, something soon will trigger their departure so this
wonderful display has a limited run. If you get there by 6:20 am or so, you’ll
see 100’s of gulls and mallards leaving Union Reservoir (just to the east) and
flying overhead.

Kudos to Todd D. who suggested I share this with the city of Longmont, I got
connected with a nice lady named Holly Milne ini the Communications Dept and
she posted a nice summary on FB & Twitter.

I’d love to hear if anyone else knows of an area along the front range where
you can see huge counts of birds like this?
