Long-time expert birders Brenda Wright and Coen Dexter found and photographed an unusual kingbird
on October 2 near their home in Nucla, with tentative ID being Tropical Kingbird. I understand that the images were being sent to Tyrannus experts. The bird was seen again today and many more photos were obtained. The ID is TROPICAL KINGBIRD. I have asked them to post the photos on CObirds. This would be the first or second CO record of this mega-rarity, pending acceptance by the CBRC. This is the information I have now: "On October 2 Coen and Brenda found and photographed a TROPICAL KINGBIRD. The bird was seen again today. It likes the area a mile and a half west of Nucla, just south of the intersection of CC road and 2700 road. This is one half mile south of the Sewer Ponds.
