COBIRDERS,
Yesterday a number of us explored the Rampart Range in Douglas County
and Teller County. We traveled from Hwy. 67 above Sedalia, south on the
Rampart Range Road, to Woodland Park.
We were south of Devil’s Head, looking off the top of the ridge to the
west, when a male Northern Harrier zoomed by heading south. We were at about
8,500 feet elevation and the only thing I can conclude is that this bird was
migrating south for the winter.
