Hey COBirders,

Migration numbers have picked up some the last two days at Clear Spring Ranch.
It helps that it hasn’t been gale force winds. I got blown out and couldn’t
operate nets three times last week.

Notable migrants banded:
FOS Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 3 banded Sunday (of flock of 5!) Ad M, Ad F, SY F,
and one more banded Monday, Ad F.
FOS Yellow-breasted Chat - Second year M Monday
FOS Green-tailed Towhee - Second year, sex U

photos available for all of these, if you are interested.

FOS Lesser Yellowlegs - not banded, but seen wading in a flooded field
FOS N Rough-winged Swallow - one Sunday, 5 Monday

White-crowned Sparrows - still hanging around. I have banded more already this
week than any previous spring.
LOTSA migrating Blue Jays - over 100 have gone by in the last 4 days.

And finally - today was the first multiple-warbler day - a banded
Orange-crowned M, FOS singing Yellow Warblers, and high in the trees a flock of
Yellow-rumps.
Not seeing as many as most springs, but it is still early, I guess.

Happy Migration,
Steve Brown
