Just got back from walking the dogs this afternoon (Thurs., 3 May 18) at the
Bear Creek Greenbelt between Wadsworth and Estes (Jefferson Co.) where we had a
nice male EASTERN BLUEBIRD.  This guy was by himself on the south side of the
creek, about halfway between the trailheads at the main roads.  Specifically it
was toward the creek across from where a primary paved path from the apartments
to the south enters the main trail.  Given we had the dogs, not much time
available between wrestling a dead squirrel away from one and keeping the other
from chasing cottontails, to dig for migrants this time, but there were a few
including "Audubon's" YELLOW-RUMPED and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERs.  While this
time of the year is tough to replicate any findings, might be worth a look in
the morning if you can as the bluebird was a beaut!
Good Birding,Doug
