The snipes are courting in the Coughlin Meadows area in Roosevelt National 
Forest, 8.5 miles up Sugarloaf Road from Boulder Canyon, 2500 m altitude 
(i.e montane).
They are still most active after dark but I expect to be able to watch them 
soon. 

Saw-whet owls are calling between midnight and dawn in the same area.
