Hello, Everybody.

Please join Western Field Ornithologists (WFO) for their annual conference,
to be held this year in bird-rich Ventura, California, Sept. 26-30. As you
may know, WFO partners with CFO in promoting interest in birds and
ornithology here in Colorado and throughout the West.

WFO conferences are much like CFO conferences, with workshops, socials,
science sessions, and, of course, field trips. In recent years, WFO has
made magnificent strides toward emphasizing participation by and
contributions from teenage field ornithologists. If you were at the 2017
WFO conference in Pueblo, you will recall that the event was absolutely
teeming with young birders--including a sizable contingent from Colorado.
On that note, I'm pleased to report that two Colorado young birders are
recipients of generous scholarships to this year's WFO conference.

One other thought. The birding in Ventura is always fantastic, and it's
out-of-this-world crazy brilliant in late September. I'm just saying.
