I was conducting my Yampa Route BBS survey and got some great birds. The highlights included a Sagebrush Sparrow (2 mikes west of Yampa at a CR turnoff), a Band-tailed Pigeon in Oak Creek, and Purple Martins (Saw them first on 20 Mile Road west of Oak Creek3.5 miles in). I was really questioning that one so returned to see if I could find them. They had flown northwest out of sight. So started looking about 3 miles up road 29. At about 2.5 miles up road three males and a female were in a tree while it was raining. The pigeon and martins are new to the count.
