There was a lot more activity today compared to yesterday. I especially had a big increase in Wilson's Warblers. I banded 53 birds of 12 species.
Here's the summary of newly banded birds for the day: Wilson's Warbler: 31 Orange-crowned Warbler: 8 Dusky Flycatcher: 2 Chipping Sparrow: 1 Lincoln's Sparrow: 1 Pink-sided Junco: 1 Hermit Thrush: 3 Song Sparrow: 1 Gray Catbird: 2 Spotted Towhee: 1 American Robin: 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 1 You are welcome to visit the banding station. I'll be banding through the first week of October and nets will be open 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday). This week I'm opening nets at 6:50 and banding until 11:50 weather permitting.
