Today we opened nets late at 8am due to a frosty morning. Cold temperatures
and moderate winds kept the bird activity low throughout the morning. We
finished with just 8 newly banded birds, as well as a returning Oregon
Junco banded in the fall of 2016. Here's the newly banded list:

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's: 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle: 3
Spotted Towhee: 1
Lincoln's Sparrow: 1

Tomorrow will very likely be our last day of banding for the season at Barr
Lake! We had planned to close on Sunday, but the weather forecast isn't in
our favor. Tomorrow is also the Harvest Festival at Barr Lake State Park,
so come stop by for your last chance to visit the banding station this
fall. We will be opening nets at 8am tomorrow.
