For many yrs, I have noted my FOS mourning dove in mid-February (excluding
ones I may find in semi-hidden places in the winter...rare). Then, nothing
for 2-3 weeks, then mourning doves are fairly easily seen. I have no idea
why I just see this single individual, then nothing for the next 2-3
weeks.

Subject: *** SPAM 10: [cobirds] Possible White-Winged Dove -- South Platte
Park, Arapahoe County
Hi all -
While walking into the nature center at South Platte Park for the Winter
Waterfowl Census, I noticed a dove fly over. I saw it only from the
underside and briefly, nowhere near enough time to get a photo. I noticed
it was not large (some Collared Doves get pretty big), it had a white
tipped tail (like a Collared Dove or White-winged, unlike Mourning Dove).
It also had a thin, dainty neck and head (like Mourning or White winged,
unlike Collared). I just wanted to give anyone birding there a heads up on
a possible White winged Dove. Based on the description, does it sound like
it could be a White winged Dove?
